The Sri Mersing Connection

L-R Front Row: Cikgu Esa Yunos; Hj Abu Kassim; Lt Kol (B) Abd Rahman Adam; Cikgu Mohd Ali:Cikgu Hamdan Abu Samah and Cikgu Ismail Yusof. In the Back Row Cikgu Sallehuddin Sulaiman; Mej (B) Abdul Rahman Amin and Mej (B) Aris Abu Talib
I had wanted to resurrect this connection not only for its deja vu element but more importantly is to renew networking and catch up on current things the Sri Mersing products are involved in. The impetus to this was actually triggered by Cikgu Hamdan Abu Samah who happened to reside in my neighbourhood of Ampang Jaya. I managed to get in touch with Esa Yunos, Rahman Amin and Abu Kassim. I suggested that we have hightea at Kelab Darul Ehsan in Ampang Jaya on Sunday 3rd December 2006. Nine of us SMSS Veterans were there finally.

I was happy to see the arrival of Abu Kassin with four others in tow while waiting for them at the entrance of KDE. We settled down at one table and had great fun reminiscing while enjoying the club sandwiches and the tarik.

During this tee-a-tee Cikgu Hamdan mentioned about Cikgu Yusof Junid our music teacher whose now residing in Selayang. We decided to pay him a surprised visit after performing our solat ‘asar at Taman TAR mosque where I bumped into Gen (B) Tan Sri Zain Hashim.
Cikgu Mohd Ali was our point man to get us to Cikgu Yusof Junid’s house in Selayang. We arrived without much hassle and indeed our arrival so overwhelm our host that we can see tear of joy in his eyes. He insisted that we have tea with him

At Cikgu Yousf Junid adobe in Selayang. We stayed for almost 2 hours before we made our own ways home with a promise that we shall keep in touch and perhaps get together again in the near future
